Saturday’s Schedule of Events

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Registration

12:30 pm – Opening Ceremony & Lighting of the Olympic Flame

12:45 pm – What, No Ducks? Ball Toss

Divided into 3 height categories   |  Arena A

Retrieving.  Handler throws a ball to a designated spot.  Once the dog retrieves the ball, the handler throws another for a total of 3 balls.  Best time wins.

1:00 pm – Nadia Comaneci Agility

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena C

Agility. Up the ramp to balance beam across to down ramp, teeter-totter, slalom, Hoop Tunnel (Handler must go through tunnel with the dog). Best time wins.

1:30 pm – Rip Van Winkle Sleep Off

Open to all sizes and ages  |  Arena B

Dog lying down the longest without moving (up to 60 sec.) wins. Heads cannot flop, ears cannot wiggle or tails wag. Handlers can pet, stroke and coo to their dogs during competition.

1:45 pm –Dunking For (Hot) Dogs

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena A

The first to eat all their hot dog chunks wins. Float chunks of hot dogs in a small tub; 5 for large dogs, 3 for medium and small dogs.  As soon as dog finishes, handler stands up and raises hand  Handler cannot hand feed pieces to dog.  First 3 win.

2:00 pm –Filla Fuller Brush Shedding

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena B

Best Shedder – Handlers have one minute to brush their dog.  One handler holds plastic bags (we furnish) while other brushes and passes hair. Handler supplies their own grooming tool.  No Furminators!

2:15 pm –Luciano Pavarotti Commemorative Sing-Off

Open to all sizes and ages  |  Arena A

What more is there to say? Handlers can use any non-physical means to help their dogs sing. Winners based on popular vote.

Dog Race

2:30 pm –Babe Ruth Obedience Baseball

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena B

Dogs complete a command at each base to score. Dog & handler stand at Home Plate.  When the judge says “go” dog & handler move to 1st Base. Handler commands dog to sit.  As soon as dog sits, dog & handler move to 2nd Base, handler commands dog to lay.  As soon as dog performs command, dog & handler move to 3rd Base.  Handler commands dog to sit/stay & handler walks to Home Plate with their back to dog.  As soon as handler  reaches Home Plate they release dog.  3 best times win.  If dog moves from 3rd Base before being released, dog & handler must return to 3rd Base to do command again.

2:45 pm –I’ve Got Rhythm Musical Sit

Open to all sizes and ages  |  Arena A

Think musical chairs. For your dog.  When music starts, handlers with dogs on leashes, walk in a circle. Music stops, handler commands dog to sit. Last dog to sit is out till 3 dogs remain & compete for medals.

3:00 pm –Peanut Butter Lick

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena B

Who can empty the spoon of peanut butter the fastest? Did we mention the spoon’s handle is in the owner’s mouth? No hands allowed! Handler kneels in the sand and on the signal of the MC puts the padded spoon in their mouth.  As soon as the dog has finished, stand up and hold the spoon in the air.  Spoons must be empty of peanut butter. First 3 win.

3:15 pm –Frisbee Throw

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena A

The dog with the furthest catch wins (Furthest distance thrown and caught).

3:30 pm –Who’s Your Daddy?

Open to all sizes and ages  |  Arena B

Most interesting looking offspring from combination of parents.  Winner based on popular vote.  Vote for the dog, not the handler.

3:45 pm –Doggie Dash

Divided into 3 height categories  |  Arena A

Just like in 4th grade, only the dogs do the running. Dog and handler line up at starting mark.  Second handler kneels at finish line.  On a signal, the dogs are released.  Handler stands as soon as their dog reaches them. First 3 dogs to reach finish line wins.
